We are very excited about the significant improvements that are taking place at Ashington Academy over the Easter holidays.
To begin with, our two art classrooms are getting a total overhaul and will be fitted with brand new, state of the art facilities including those for working with clay, and a photography darkroom. The classrooms will also see IT upgrades with a number of new flat screen panels fitted in each room.
We will also be completing phase II of our window replacement programme this Easter as we remove the old, aged windows and replace them with brand new windows, improving the look but not least the warmth of the school building.
A number of other projects are also in the planning stages including a conference room refurbishment, main hall improvements and food technology upgrades to the practical space. Watch this space for updates.
All of these renovations have been made possible thanks to funding directed to Ashington Academy by the North East Learning Trust.
